For the 2024-2025 season, on a trial basis, subject to ongoing and future review by IDCMHA Board, IDCMHA is facilitating a timekeeper course and will permit/support team’s if they elect to hire timekeepers during the season, at their team's discretion.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
Facilitate/organize the timekeeper training course for community members. Non-community members from neighboring communities may be permitted to attend if there is room.
Promote and advocate the opportunity for local kids and members to be active within our association; similar to being a referee.
Provide an opportunity for parents/guardians/members to reduce their volunteer requirements by providing access to trained timekeepers.
Those who attend the clinic and become certified, will be permitted to timekeep IDCMHA games at IDC Arena during tournaments and/or sanctioned games. Process outlined below.
OVERVIEW:
IDCMHA will faciliate a clinic on November 10th, 2024 between 8:30-11:30am at TC Energy Centre (meeting room).
IDCMHA has hired a trained timekeeper who is certified and has many years of experience across the province, including with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.
To attend, please register by completing the form below and submit payment. Must be a min. of a 2012 birth year to attend the clinic.
GUIDELINES:
IDCMHA will collect and store the names and contact information for the certified timekeepers, and their parents/guardians. IDCMHA will direct communication to the contact information on file.If an IDCMHA team wishes to hire a certified timekeeper for a game(s), their Team Manager can contact the Vice President for contact information. All team communication should only be through the Team Manager. For clairty, teams are not obligated to use certified timekeepers, it is only an option, if they so choose. All costs are the obligation of the Team and the Team Manager to pay the timekeeper immediately following the game.IDCMHA will not assign games and Teams are not obligated to hire a timekeeper. Parent volunteers may still timekeep games, as volunteers.Certified Timekeepers will be paid based on the following rates: U9 = $20 / GAME
U11 = $25 / GAME
U13 = $25 / GAME
U15 = $30 / GAME
NOTE: All costs are the responsibility of the Team. The Team Manager is responsible for coordinating with the timekeeper and providing payment following the game.RECOMMENDED GAME ASSIGNMENTS:U9 games: Timekeeper should be min. of 12 years old (2012 birth year).*
U11 games: Timekeeper should be min. of 12 years old (2012 birth year).*
U13 games: Timekeeper should be a min. of 15 years old, or 12* and accompanied by a Team parent volunteer.
U15 games: Timekeeper should be a min. of 15 years old and accompanied by a Team parent volunteer.
*must be born in 2012.
One timekeeper required / game. Timekeepers are not expected/required to manage or play music during the game(s). Team parent volunteers are to be from the IDCMHA team playing.
SUBMITTING GAMESHEETS:Timekeepers are required to provide completed game sheets to the Home Team (IDC) Manager at the end of the game. The Manager is still responsible for
submitting the game sheet to Eastman as per the
Eastman guidelines here.

Eastman Minor IMPORTANT REMINDERS: Timekeepers are officials of the game and should be treated with respect at all times. Any maltreatment will not be tolerated.
Timekeepers are members of our community. IDCMHA asked parents to still support the timekeepers at all times, during the games, as needed.
